Rajmund Livio
Born in Sevnica, lives in Celje, Slovenia. Works with acrylic paints. He studied economy at the University of Maribor, Slovenia, and obtained there PhD title. Afterwards he spent a large part of hs life in Krško, where he worked in a paper mill. Since he always loved water, he was the first president of the Swimming club Krško. In Celje he helped to develop a bearing factory. His love for painting started when he finished his professional career. He participated in many solo and group exhibitions, and was also a member of the Celje Association of Artists. His work covers several themes, from the faces and figures series to geometric series. Being very attached to his birthplace, Sevnica, one can say that the roots of his paintings are in his youth spent there and in the beautiful Sava River. All the works are linked by a common thread From darkness to light.
All of author´s works deal with themes that we encounter every day. From the peculiarities found on the face of an individual, to the beauty of an art skate (the theme of faces and characters), to the suffering caused by war (the series A Plea for Peace), to harmony in a seemingly chaotic universe. He created a special series, Planet Earth, with our "blue planet" in mind, which is over-exploited and under-given by man. His attachment to nature, especially water, is illustrated in the works collectively entitled Let Us Fly and The Wonderful Underwater World. Since flowers, his favourite orchids, are also part of human life, he painted them in his own way. But each of the paintings also carries a deeper message:
"I want to fly beyond the boundaries of evil, to the place where rage and anger are annihilated and love for fellow human beings becomes the first value of existence on this planet."
