Rajko Livio, PhD, a member of the Celje Artists, he was present in the wider and narrower art scene for quite a few years. He creates his works in acrylic, which gives him greater possibilities of expression. It combines the qualities of both oil and watercolour and can be applied in a glaze-like manner - in thin transparent layers - or in a pasty manner - in thicker layers.

Like most self-taught painters, Dr Rajko Livio began his painting career by depicting realistic motifs taken from nature. This initial phase did not last long, however, as he soon began to retreat into an intellectual search for originality and his own artistic expression, which is particularly evident in the presentation of forms and space, the use of colour and the choice of motifs - the images began to lose their connection with the solidity of the object and at first glance appeared abstract, with a noticeable cubist method of fragmentation. The forms are both poetic and evocative, creating the illusion of an object in space.

With restraint, seriousness and dignity, Dr Rajko Livio explores the space between reality and imagination, striving for a pure aesthetic pleasure in which the forms are poetically suggestive and express the painter's deep feeling for life and the human soul.
